"Baby"

On July 27, 2005, Phi Beta Kappa Cleveland held a summer event at Kalliope Stage.

Three unsuspecting couples suddenly find themselves expecting, and eventually learn to tackle everything "in the family way."

On Wednesday, July 27, 2005 , Kalliope Stage was the setting for a delightful evening, as PBK members and friends enjoyed a moving and funny production of the 1983 musical comedy "Baby," by David Shire with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. The evening started with wine and light hors d'oeuvres before the show, and concluded with delectable desserts and beverages after the show, where attendees were joined by the cast.

While this gathering was primarily a "friend raiser," proceeds from the event will support our annual Scholastic Awards Banquet, which will be held next May. At this special spring luncheon, the Cleveland Association of PBK will honor 120 of the best students from high schools in the Greater Cleveland area. In addition, our chapter will also select one outstanding student for a $1000 college scholarship renewable for four years.
